To find the x intercept you substitute 0 for y and vice versa (to find y sub 0 for x)

determining x intercept
y = 0
5x-4y=6
5x-4(0)=6
5x=6
--- ---
5 5
x = 6/5 or 1.2
When y is equal to 0, x is 6/5.
(6/5,0) or (1.2,0)

Determining y intercept
x = 0
5x-4y=6
5(0)-4y=6
-4y=6
---- ---
-4 -4
y = 6/-4 or 3/-2 or -1.5
when x is equal to 0, y is 3/-2. (0,3/-2 or 0,-1.5)
