In first equation multiply 3,
In second equation multiply 2...
[tex] - 6x + 18y = - 9 [/tex]
[tex]6x - 8y = 64[/tex]
On solving the equation,
[tex]10y = 55[/tex]
[tex]y = 55 \div 10[/tex]
[tex]y = 11 \div 2[/tex]
[tex]y = 5.5[/tex]
