Battle of Midway Why was the Battle of Midway considered the turning point of the war in the Pacific?

It halted the Japanese advance in Asia. They were now on the defensive after this engagement.  This also contributed to the allied effort on both fronts of the war.  It prevented the Germans and Japanese from joining forces that could threaten the allies and led the way to the American offensive in the Pacific.
