Historicaly, there had been some cooperation between religions, such as the translation into Bengali of the Coran . The same can be said for amusical interaction of devotinal themes. However, more modernly, religious persecution of the Hindus by the Muslims happened during the British Colonial period, which were in place ever since the Sultanate of Delhi. Tensions between members of the two religions still exists in India today.
