In 1605, Roman Catholic-inspired Guy Fawkes conspired against the King and the Parliament. His plan was known as the Bonfire Night. November 5, 1605 is also known as the Guy Fawkes Day.
The plan was known as the Bonfire Night because Guy Fawkes and 12 co-conspirators planned to blow up King James I of England during the opening of the Parliament.
