Answer

The equation would be y = 1/2x + b, and if you had some points like (0,1) you would be able to fine a line parallel.

So ill just do (0,1).

You plug in x=0 and y=1 to y =1/2x + b, so you now have 1 = 1/2(0) + b.

This then equals 1 = 0+b, which is b = 1.

So a line that is parallel to y =1/2x + 5 is y = 1/2x + 1
