Explanation: To make out a prima facie case, the plaintiff must have already established the fact that he/she was discriminated against.  This means that he has met his initial burden of proof by providing evidence to justify his claim. If the person against whom the claim is filed does not provide evidence that proves otherwise, the court may rule in favor of the plaintiff.  

Discrimination can be on the basis of sex, race, age among others.
