To determine the distance (d) traveled by a body given its speed (S) and the time (t). Use the equation,

                             S = d / t           ;          d = S x t

Substituting the known values to the equation,

                                      d = (4 m/s ) x (40 s) = 160 m

Thus, the person will travel 160 meters in 40 seconds.
