Hi

An inverse variation is of the  form  :  f(x) = k/x  where k is a number  and x the variable.

In a inverse variation , the product of   x*y  is for all point always the same which is  K

so  2*8 = 16    so K = 16  and  f(x) = 16/x

if x = 3  then   f(x) = 3   so :   16/x = 3  ;   3x = 16  ; x ⇒ 16/3
