If the sum of a number and seven is doubled, the result is five less than the number

I can help you set up the equation, if you don't actually practice isolating you're never gonna learn,
it says the /sum of a number and seven/ which means n+7
is equal to /five less than the number/ so n-5
so your two parts are
n+7 = n-5
