A buffer resists the change of ph. That is because a buffer is made of an acid and it’s conjugate base. This mixture will react with any solution that is added to neutralize it. If an acid is added to a buffer, the base in that buffer will react with the added acid to create water and a neutral salt. This reaction results in very little ph change
