-6 - (-3) remember ( a number in between ) this means positive number so that would mean that that equation would be 3

The absolute value means the value in side will be positive. - - or 2 negative signs give a positive number (cancel each other out). So it becomes -6 plus 3 which is -3. This would be the answer but absolute value signs mean that this value inside (-3) has to be positive.
The correct answer is a number line that shows 3.
