Answer:   x = 3/4; y = 19/6

Step-by-step explanation:

plug in y = 2/3x + 8/3 into 4x - 2y = -4

4x - 2(2/3x + 8/3) = -4

  4x  - 4/3x - 18/3 = -4

        12/3x - 4/3x = -12/3 + 18/3

                    8/3x = 6/3

                    8/3x = 2

                         x = 2(3/8)

                         x = 6/8  = 3/4

plug the x value into y = 2/3x + 8/3

y = 2/3(3/4) + 8/3

y = 1/2 + 8/3

y = 3/6 + 16/6

y = 19/6
