For this case we can create the following proportional rule:

[tex]\frac{20}{100-40}=\frac{x}{100}[/tex]

For this case x = original price

Then solving for x we have:

[tex]x=100\cdot\frac{20}{60}=33.33[/tex]

Then the original price is 33.33$
