We can calculate the slope using the next formula

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

where

(1,-5)=(x1,y1)

(4,1)=(x2,y2)

We substitute the values into the formula above

[tex]m=\frac{1+5}{4-1}=\frac{6}{3}=2[/tex]

the slope of the line is m=2, the answer is D
