The cost of 12 apples is $4

Here is how I got my answer:

2 pears = 3 apples

The cost of 2 pears AND 3 apples. we know three apples is equal to another 2 pears so basically its 4 pears are 2 dollars. Or 6 apples are 2 dollars.

using this information we can conclude that
Every 3 apples is a dollar

so we divide 3 by 12

4, so our answer is $4.
