How were the Inca able to conquer such a vast empire?

The Inca, much like ancient Rome used roads to connect all the newly conquered cities to eachother and then the inca would send militants and a new governer to the conquered territories to make it officially a part of the incan empire. Additionally the inca would not tolerate any sort no matter how small an act of rebellion
