Answer:

A reaction in which a higher reactive particle(ion, atom etc) displaces a lower reactive one is known as displacement reaction.

There are two types of displacement reaction

-double displacement reaction

(NaCl + BaSO4 -----> BaCl2 + Na2SO4

-single displacement reaction

CuO+H2--> Cu+ H2O
