Anemia refers specifically to a deficiency of the oxygen capacity of blood mainly via a pathological deficiency or abnormality of blood cells for example Sickle Cell Anemia. Additionally Anemia can also be Iron-deficient, in which case the protein used to bind oxygen to blood cells is deficient.
