Why does the speaker in sonnet 18 by petrarch repeatedly use negative words and phrases?

It could be said that the speaker in sonnet 18 by Petrarch conveys negative ideas in order to exalt the beauty of love. as he compares love with summer , he tends to say that the latest is not as good as love because it ends quickly. So he concludes that everything that is beautiful disappears.
