First, you need to find the length of the second side. You do this by dividing the area by half the length of the known side
This gives you 14 cm for the unknown side
At this point, you plug the two sides of the triangle into the Pythagorean Theorem, which is a^2 + b^2 = c^2
(48)^2 + (14)^2 = c^2
2304 + 196 = c^2
2500 = c^2
The square root of 2500 is 50 so the length of the hypotenuse is 50
