This is not a true statement, because -24 is not greater than -10. -24 may look like a bigger number, but this means 24 below 0 and -10 is only 10 below 0.

First off, in order to solve this, notice that it the "alligator" is pointed to the right.  The equation is basically asking if -10 is less that 4 x -6.

4 x -6 = -24

If you think about it, -10 is more than -24, because it is closer to 0 on a number line than -24.
