The volume of any pyramid can be defined as: [tex]V = \frac{1}{3} Bh[/tex] where V is volume, B is the area of the base of the pyramid, and h is the height of the pyramid.  

In our problem:
B = area of the triangular Base
B = (.5)(12)(10)
B = 60

h = 17

[tex]V= \frac{1}{3} (60)(17)[/tex]
V = 340in³
