As you can see from my example above, someone making $100,000 a year in New York City is NOTliving it up. ...... month in order to build up our emergency fund to 6 months living expenses and then add to our mutual funds in order to someday leave the city, buy a house in the country (rural CT, MA or VT) and semi-retire.
